CoOptions has implemented one of the largest IT enablement initiatives in the Rural
credit management in the state of AP in 4 districts – Nizamabad, West Godavari,
Krishna and Chittoor. The Project has a joint stake-holding of the entire rural
credit re-financing structure – NABARD (National Bank for Agricultural and Rural
Development), APCOB (Andhra Pradesh State Cooperative Bank), DCCB (District Cooperative Central
Bank) and the PACS (Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society). The size
of the Pilot project is 1062 sites, out of which 139 sites have been taken up in
phase 1.
The APCOB, being the principal driver of the project, has taken efforts to make
sure that the turn-key project (which includes the Product Pax@2002, the core solution
around which rural credit is managed) meets all the technical and implementation
requirements in terms of software and hardware deployment. It brought in the expertise
and the services of Andhra Pradesh Technology Services (APTS), the technology arm
of the Government of AP, to audit the project on various parameters, for ensuring
the qualitative success of the project.
The Audit was conducted on the following aspects:

2. Business Processes The APTS audited 100 sites across the 4 districts where the
IT solution was deployed. The audit found that the Karshaka Pragati Project conformed
to 97% of their standards for customer satisfaction and delivery.
Certified by Ministry of IT, Government of India as a Multi-lingual National
level e-governance solution for Credit Delivery, solution demonstrated in the e-governance
center at Delhi.
The Product Pax@2002, implemented as a part of the Karshaka Pragati Project, is
the first solution to be demonstrated in the e-Governance Corridor of the Ministry
of Communication and Information Technology, Department of Information Technology
at New Delhi. The Ministry has gauged the success of this project based on the ability
of the ICT-enabled PACS to manage credit delivery to the tune of Rs.450 crores (US
$100 million). The ICT enablement by the Karshaka Pragati Project has clearly enabled
the PACS to become strong multi purpose cooperatives.
Bagged the CSI Nihilent e Governance award for client satisfaction, 2005.
CSI in collaboration with Nihilent Technologies Limited, recognizes ICT initiatives
that have large impact. The NISG (National Institute of Smart Government) has come
up with E-Governance Solutions framework. CSI has adopted this framework for evaluation
of projects. The Karshaka Pragati Project has won the award in the Best Client Satisfaction
Category in the year 2005.
Won Microsoft global award as the Top 5 solutions in the world for technology
adoption at New Orleans, USA, 2003.
Accredited by National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), New Delhi
as the best suited solution for the PACS.
